This event is one of our catch up events for runners who missed out due to COVID-19. However, we are also opening up spaces for new entrants too! It is perfect if you want to start training for one of the larger autumn events or if you want to enjoy a day out and run a few miles.
We will have a FULL aid table back in force at this event, so if you have missed the goodies as much as we have, then welcome back!!
This is a 7 hour timed event where you can choose your distance from 5km to ultra. You can complete as many laps of a 3.28 mile (5.3km) course along the River Wear as you wish within the 7 hour limit. We welcome runners of all abilities and as long as you complete at least one lap you will be able to choose from any of our previous iconic medals. Alternatively, you may carry on running and complete as many laps as you can manage within the time limit! We also have a 50k option for those wishing to run this distance.
For those runners who choose to run 4 laps or more, you will also earn our half marathon, mega-half, marathon, 50km or ultra pins which can be attached to your medal ribbon.
The course is classified as a trail run, however all paths are well maintained and no navigation is required.
The aid station is at the start line and therefore available every 3.28 miles. The toilets are situated in Durham Amateur Rowing Club which is available for our runners use from 8am and for the entire event.
Minimum distance is 3.28 miles or as far as you can go in 7 hours.
