The Thames Path 185 VULTRA ® is a next level in our popular VULTRA series, known as a 'Super-VULTRA' and is a standalone event, so not part of the VULTRA-Six series (a series of six consecutive VULTRA events, lasting 2 months each and held over a calendar year).
For the Thames Path Super-VULTRA ®, you can get started the minute you sign up and it really does have something for everyone; from seasoned ultra runners to those who are new to running and want to try something epic. Oh and of course there will be the epic bling – obviously! And this bling is the biggest VULTRA bling so far, in fact it's so epic it stands up by itself.
There are 7 entry options;
- The Thames Path Continuous - all in one go
- The Thames Path Week Long - 7 days
- The Thames Path Fortnight Long - 14 days
- The Thames Path Month Long - 30 days
- The Thames Path Two Months Long - 61 days
- The Thames Path Three Months Long - 92 days
- The Thames Path Four Months Long - 120 days
The above entry options are only really indicators, so a challenge timeframe that you set for yourself. If you take a bit longer or the first timeframe you set yourself slips, then that doesn't matter simply pick up where you left off until you eventually reach that finish line.
You can start as soon as you sign-up so if you want to start early then sign up NOW. Since first launching this event, we've changed it to an 'unlimited' finish time, so whilst you may have selected one of the target finish times above you pretty much have as long as you like. So why not start something epic.
The exciting bit :
You'll get a bespoke, sequential BIB when you sign up. There will be a route map and central results and progress landing page on the Phoenix Running website, and each competitor will have their own virtual location pin (complete with their name and BIB number for tracking your virtual progress). You can even add your profile picture in your Phoenix World settings. Once you start your virtual run you'll submit your mileage as you go which, once approved, will automatically move you along the map. The route is 185.1 miles along a recently mapped Thames Path from the source of the River Thames to the Thames Barrier. Pretty cool, hey. Once you've submitted enough mileage to get to the finish at the View Cafe then you are an official finisher of the Thames Path Super-VULTRA! Your total miles and total time will be added to the finisher results, you'll show as 'COMPLETE' and we'll send you your epic bling!
This is a challenge for literally anyone of any running ability. If you're new to running, fancy something a bit different, or fancy your first foray into multi-day endurance challenges, want to practice running consistent distances over consecutive days, or just want to see how many miles you can run in a week, then this is for you.
