Virtual challenges are ideal for charity and fund raising events, with live results and real-time Google maps

Virtual Challenge Events

Virtual challenges

During 2020 virtual events saw a huge upsurge in popularity, as people were unable to physically attend sports events due to coronavirus restrictions.

Taking part in a virtual event to obtain a medal or t-shirt as a reward is great, but we've seen that people still want to connect with others, to be part of a community, to retain a certain level of competitiveness (friendly of course!).

People also love a challenge, whether to improve physical fitness, to lose weight, to set a goal of running 1,000 miles in a year, to cycle John o'Groats to Lands End - everyone has their own targets.

A virtual challenge event can bring people together, albeit virtually, but strive towards a common goal or target.

Interactive virtual route maps

If it can be mapped, then we can host a virtual challenge event for you.

Our virtual challenge events use Google Maps to plot the route and the virtual location of every entrant (based on mileage).

Virtual challenge maps can be styled too, so if you're planning a winter marathon for example, why not style the map to look wintery !

Or add in virtual checkpoints or areas/points of interest that can be seamlessly viewed on StreetView.

Here are just a few example routes that we could virtually host for you, but if you can map it - we can handle it ! :

  • John o'Groats to Lands End (JOGLE)
  • Lands End to John o'Groats (LEJOG)
  • Three Peaks
  • Everest Base Camp
  • London to Paris
  • Route 66
  • Great Wall of China
  • Offa's Dyke
  • Thames Towpath
  • Coast to Coast

And here are a few example virtual maps, to give you a flavour of what they look like in real life :

Virtual results - live

Gone are the days when organisers have to sit over email and spread sheets, collating results to create tables and update maps separately, our system does all of that for you.

Following successful entry, the entrant can access our Entrant Portal where they can upload and submit 'evidence' of their activity which counts towards their challenge target.

The evidence can be automatically accepted or held for review and approval - the choice is yours.

Following virtual result submission, the challenge map is automatically updated, as is the 'real-time' results table.

And once an entrant reaches the event distance, they are automatically moved to 'completed' status - they'll even receive a congratulations email !

Unique virtual bibs | Virtual race numbers

Everyone loves a race bib, and virtual events should be no different.

Personalised, sequentially numbered virtual bibs (virtual race numbers) are automatically generated ready for entrants to download from our secure entrant portal - saving you the organiser time & effort, after all, you've got better things to be doing!

And because each virtual event is different, you can have unique bibs for each event.
