Join Saturn Running for our Remembrance run and help us to honour our fallen heroes and earn a fabulous medal.

Distance & Time: This is a 6 hour & 32 minutes timed event you can choose your distance from 5km to ultra. At 11am we will have a 2 minute silence runners will stop to remember those who bravely fought and gave their lives over 100 years ago and in those conflicts since. We will deduct the 2 minutes from your time in order to give you your running finish time. You can complete as many laps of a 4.37mile (7.0km) looped course along the River Wear as you wish within the 6hr 32min time limit.
The regular course is subject to some change near the time of the event depending on our health and safety review of the course.
We welcome runners of all abilities and as long as you complete at least one lap will earn a stunning remembrance themed medal, although we do hope most runners will continue on the course to take part in the remembrance silence. There is no maximum distance and you can continue running and complete as many laps as you can manage within the time limit! We will also have a 50k option for those wishing to run this distance.
All abilities are welcome at our super-inclusive events and we also welcome walkers too.
Course: The course is along a beautiful stretch of the River Wear with views of the Cathedral and is classified as a trail run. It is fully signed so no navigational experience is required.
Medals: As long as you complete one lap, you will be an official finisher and you will receive one of our fantastic themed medals.
Goody Bag: Absolutely! You earned the calories after all, so all our finishers get a goody bag. As well as our standard goody bag, with a selection of various goodies to choose from, we also have a fabulous vegan goody bag for our vegan runners.
Distance Pins: We have distance pins available for anyone who runs a half-marathon distance or more. Pins available to collect are our Half-Marathon, Mega-Half, Marathon, 50km and Ultra pins. You will receive one pin on the ribbon of your medal to reflect your achievement.
Aid Table: We have a fantastic aid table and drinks table at the start / finish of each lap. There is an incredible selection of drinks and savoury or sweet snacks such as crisps, cheese, fruit and cookies with vegan options also available.
Special Event: If our event is a special event for you, for instance your 50th, 99th, 100th, 200th, 250th etc., half or full marathon then please let us know. You will receive a special running number with your name on it and the date of the event. Also, if it is your birthday run then again please let us know as we have a fabulous special birthday number for you too.
Toilets & Changing Facilities: The toilets are situated in the Durham Amateur Rowing Club which is available for our runners use from 8am and for the entire event. There is also a bar and showers situated in Rowing Club should you wish to use them.
Final Instructions / Number pick up: Final race day instructions will be sent out via email 4 days prior to the event with full race day information. Number pick up is on the day at race registration before the start of the event.
Parking: There is nearby free on-street parking or pay and display city centre parking.
Other Info: There will be somewhere to leave a bag at the start / finish area. However, this is not a secure bag and the items cannot be watched at all times so please do not leave anything valuable.
Headphones are allowed.
Our running events are held on public footpaths so we would be grateful if all runners were considerate of other path users.

12 yrsWe allow transfers for free online (via EventEntry transfer system) up to 7 days prior to the event.
Thereafter we will allow a deferral to another event for a one off fee of £18 - you will need to have paid your fee and chosen your new event prior to the start of this event.
Anyone wishing to run over 45km must be 20 years of age or older, 18/19 years old can only run up to 45km.
