PHOENIX - Leon The Runner
You've heard of Leon: The Professional, well we bring you Leon: The Runner!
We're delighted to announce that one of our regular runners Leon Hicks has approached us to help celebrate his 100th Marathon. As you'd expect we've thrown ourselves into this wholeheartedly and taken Leon's excellent medal idea and brought it to life.
So come and help Leon celebrate his epic marathon milestone in style - we've created a truly one-off bespoke medal which we know you really, really won't want to miss.
Join us on Saturday 7th April 2018 and then why not head from our Thames Path route up to our Berkhamsted location for another Groovy Baby run on the Sunday - where we're pretty sure Leon will be sporting a new running top!!
This is a 6 hour timed event where you choose - from 5km to ultra marathon, you can complete as many, or as few, laps as you like of a 5.3km, 3.28 mile, out and back, course along the beautiful river Thames. We welcome all abilities of runner - complete one lap and you're both a finisher and a winner in our eyes, or keep going and see how far you can get in the full 6 hour time limit and everyone gets the fabulous bespoke finishers' medal.
Not sure? Well the beauty of this format is that you don't even need to decide in advance - simply come and run a lap and see how you feel on the day and keep on going if it feels right.
Places will be strictly limited so don't leave it too late to enter.
Minimum distance is 3.28 miles or as far as you can go in 6 hours.
This event is fully sanctioned by the 100 Marathon Club and for competitors completing 8 laps or more (26.2 miles+) this will count towards your numbers.
Off road trail, the terrain is riverside towpath.
The overall course has no elevation gain / loss making this a flat and fast route
