Rotherby 8

The final race of the Leicestershire road race league sees the sixth running of the Rotherby 8 around the beautiful villages of the Wreake Valley. Starting at Rotherby Lodge Farm this rolling 8 mile course runs through Gaddesby, Ashby Folville before returning to the farm to finish. It will test the legs and lungs but will reward with the beautiful countryside.

There will be free parking, toilets and refreshments at the start/finish and water available on the route. Prizes available, details TBC.

The Route: Runners will start at Rotherby Lodge Farm down the access track and left onto Gaddesby Lane towards Gaddesby. Upon entering the village, the route goes down Park Hill to the T-Junction with Ashby Road the route turns left. At the edge of Ashby Folville the route turns left onto Ashby Folville Road and then immediate left again over the bridge. The route then continues along Ashby Folville Road up the hill to the junction with Pasture Lane it turns left onto Pasture Lane. At the end of Pasture Lane in Gaddesby the route turns right onto Rotherby Lane, and then follows the outward route in reverse back to Rotherby Lodge Farm. Upon arriving at the farm, the route turns right onto the farm access track to the finish.

Access to the race start/finish field is from Gaddesby Lane, with exit from the site via a track direct onto the A607. As Gaddesby Lane/Rotherby Lane will be closed for the first 2 miles of the race, all runners are requested to arrive at the site 45mins before the start to avoid the risk of being unable to start the race.

No headphones of any type are be permitted on the course anyone seen wearing headphones will be disqualified.
