Rise of the Phoenix - The Beacon Solstice

And we're back! (AGAIN!) for the resurrected "Beacon Solstice Run"

A slight change for this year as we have upped it from a 5 miler to a 10k race! This still includes a Canicross & Kids Fun Run at the epic Beacon Hill

Kids fun run - 1 mile
Maximum age 14. Max capacity 100. Race starts at 18:30

The main race - 10K

A 10K (approx) run within the boundaries of Leicestershire's beautiful Beacon Hill Country Park.
Minimum age 15. Max capacity 400. Race starts at 19:10

This is a chip timed race but final race positions are based on gun time as per ARC / UKA races.

Canicross Race - 10K

A 10K (approx) run within the boundaries of Leicestershire's beautiful Beacon Hill Country Park.
Minimum age 15. Max capacity 50. Race starts at 19:00

• We have listened to your feedback and made an exciting improvement to the canicross start. Starts are now seeded based on your expected completion time, NO MASS START. We know that mass starts can be difficult for dogs and their owners, so now you will set off at 20 second intervals with room for you and your dog to have a calmer start.
• Fastest runners go off earlier to reduce requirement for overtaking, and provide more space at water pools and water stations
• Control of your dog is required at all times.
• You must also ensure that your dog is on-lead/harness at all times during the entire event. No choke chains
• We welcome any breed or cross breed of dog, but they must be at least 12 months old
• The same dog must be used for the full race
• No bitches on heat
• All dog poo must be picked up
• When participating, you must take full responsibility for your health and your dog's health. Any rescue or rescue costs must be borne by you, the participant.
• Your dog must be in front of you at all times and they must not be dragged at any point
• When overtaking other runners on narrow trails, call before overtaking. If being overtaken, keep your dog close
• When passing other runners, each party should ensure this is done safely, allowing plenty of space for each runner and ensuring dogs do not become tangled
• The competitor that is being overtaken must assume responsibility to ensure that their dogs are to one side of the track and do not interfere with the runner going past
• A participant who fails to comply with the regulations set forth in these regulations may be excluded from the event (even without warning), with a starting fee already paid
• The rightful owner of a dog is required to have liability insurance (or family insurance) for any damages that their dog may , or injuries that the dog may cause
• In the case of an incident or accident, as the owner, you are responsible for your dog. Poplar Running club / Rise of the Phoenix tee cannot be held responsible for any problems with third parties. Therefore, as the participant, you must ensure that you have taken out liability insurance for your dog
• The event will be covered by public liability insurance as standard
