Phoenix Manchester heads to Alexandra Park, Moss Side M16 7JL for the first time!

Flat. Fast. Beautiful in every season.

We're thrilled to be bringing our event to Alexandra Park, Moss Side for the first time! Whether you're tackling an ultra or a 10K, this is a quick, friendly course in one of Manchester's loveliest parks.

We've worked closely with the parkrun team so both events can run side by side, so please stick to your start time. It's what makes the day work for everyone.

Start Times

Ultra Marathon, Marathon - no rock up and run option for this one!
Registration: 7.30am | Start: 8am (7 hours to do the distance 8am-3pm)

Anything under Marathon (20 miles, Half Marathon, 10K and shorter)
Registration: 9.15am onwards | Start: 10am-10.30am (5 hours to do the distance 10am-3pm)

All runners must finish by 3pm. This is a strict cut-off.

Race Briefing

A comprehensive race briefing will be sent 5 to 7 days before the event. Please read it ahead of the day.

Laps and Distances

• 1 lap = 1.10 miles
• Official half marathon = 12 laps
• Official full marathon = 24 laps
• 25 laps and over = Ultra

Parkrun and Our Event

Our event is chip timed, and all laps must be completed with us to count.

• 8am starters (Ultra, Marathon and 20 Mile): You can't take part in parkrun, as it would invalidate your results.
• Runners doing shorter distances: You're welcome to run parkrun first, then register with us and join us at the 10am start. Your parkrun can't count towards your laps.

The Course

You'll run a loop that follows the same outer route as parkrun. It's flat, fast and scenic.

Please take care: parkrun runs from 9am-9.30am, so the park will be very busy. Whether you're already running with us or making your way to register, be considerate of everyone around you.

Aid Station

Our aid station will be open all day, stocked with bananas, biscuits, crisps, full-fat cola, Irn-Bru and more.

Getting Here

We recommend public transport. If you're driving, parking is available on Claremont Road, a short walk from the park.

Registration

Registration is near Demesne Road, away from the parkrun start/finish at the café.

Toilets and Café

The park toilets don't open until 9am, so if you're starting early, please use the toilets at the Shell petrol station just outside the park.

The cafe's toilets are open from 9am to 4pm, and the coffee, cakes and sandwiches are well worth a stop. Please support them by buying something, even just a bottle of water, and treat the facilities with respect.
