We are very honoured to introduce The Sean Coxhead Ribbon Run.
Sean Coxhead was an inspirational runner and fundraiser from York. After receiving his 1 year cancer prognosis on 15th May 2018, Sean made it his mission to raise as much money as possible for Macmillan Cancer Support.
As part of Sean's fundraising campaign and in order to mark reaching his 1 year prognosis, Sean launched the Ribbon Run and this first event took place in May 2019. This was a virtual run where people ran a 5km route which included part of their run being in the shape of a Macmillan Cancer Ribbon. The purpose of the run was to spread Macmillan Cancer Ribbons across Strava and other social media sites.
Sadly, Sean passed away last year. However, as he was always thinking ahead about his fundraising, he asked See York Run York to continue his Ribbon Run on an annual basis and to continue fundraising for Macmillan Cancer Support in his name and we want to do him proud.
To take part all you need to do is run 5km with part of your route in the shape of a Macmillan Cancer Ribbon and then share your run across your social media pages with the hashtag #seancoxheadribbonrun
The run must take place between the two week period of 15th and 29th May 2020. You may run or walk the 5km, just as long as it includes a ribbon within your route.
Sean has kept his Justgiving page open and all profit from this virtual run will be donated to Macmillan Cancer Support in Sean's name.
Please email firstname.lastname@example.org once you have completed your run and your medal will be posted out to you.
