Due to COVID19 the format has changed to enable social distancing. A 1.5hour start window will be provided between 08.00-09.30. Runners are required to arrive ready to run, register, put on their bib number and then start running. Large groups will not be allowed to set off together. Groups must be limited to 6 people. Social distancing of 2m must be observed at all times.
The event will not be timed this year, this is to help discourage people from racing and overtaking at inappropriate times. This is, and always has been, a fun challenge not a race!
Those already signed up that do not feel comfortable attending an event at this time have the option to transfer to a Virtual Run instead.
Everybody is requested to respect one another and to act within the current government guidlines.
10 mile trail run to raise money for Air Ambulance and also the Chernobyl Childrens project UK, helping children suffering the after affects of the Chernobyl Disaster.
Starting in the rural village of Croft, the route will be using the public footpaths and bridleways through farmland in the local areas surrounding Croft Village.
Participants will be provided with a route map and description to follow, as it is self navigating, but there will be some course markers along the way, and the route will of course be taking you over Croft Hill!
There will be a checkpoint on route offering cakes and drinks, and also at the end all participants will be provided with a sausage cob, more cakes to choose from and soft drinks, and a medal.
There are two short road sections, one at the start in Croft, and the second through Stoney Stanton, otherwise the route is all off road.
This is just a fun challenge and not a race, the idea is purely to raise money for charity and have a fun time running through the countryside and exploring new areas whilst doing so. And of course, eating cake!
The event will start and finish at The Heathcote Arms, giving participants the opportunity to treat themselves to a well deserved pint after the challenge.
It should be noted that all participants are responsible for their own welfare and safety. There are roads to cross and also a rail crossing. IF YOU CAN SEE A TRAIN YOU DO NOT HAVE TIME TO CROSS! All runners participate at their own risk. We suggest participants run in pairs and carry a mobile phone in case of emergency. The organisers take no responsibility for runners ignoring organiser/Marshals instruction or diverting from the route as laid out in the event instructions.
Parking is available behind Croft church in both the Aggregate Industries Car Park and the All Truck Car Park. Parking is Also available at Riverside Court, on Station Road. Please do not park on the roads in the Village.
We look forward to seeing you and everyone having a great time, enjoying cake, and raising money for a good cause in the process!
