Last year I missed running the Great North Run as I couldn't leave my mam's bedside. We lost her a week later to Bowel Cancer. Whilst she was ill we discussed my next challenge and also the charity I would support.
This year the Great North Run was meant to be a year to the day of her death & I knew when it was announced that I would be at the start line for my mam & Bowel Cancer UK!
Covid put paid to that though, along with everything else! The charity still needs funds to carry on the vital research that will hopefully help people like my mam live longer past diagnosis or even prevent it.
So why TENacity? My mam had a big thing for the number 10! Everything that happened she would relate back to the number 10! The date, the time, everything!
My mam was also TENacious! The kind of person who never gave up and never stopped trying she was also very stubborn (a little like runners). She proved this in her fight against the dreadful disease, 3 times we were told to say our goodbyes, but she kept fighting!
Minimum donation of £15 per person. ALL proceeds after costs will be donated to Bowel Cancer UK.
All you need to do is Run, Walk, Cycle 10k, 10miles, 10 x 10k/miles etc all in the 10 days running up to Sunday 13th September which would have been The Great North Run Day! Its your choice!
In return I will send you a fabulous custom-made medal to either add to your collection or start a collection!!
Get the family involved, challenge yourself and all for a good cause!
