PHOENIX - Frozen Phoenix 2017 - Day 1
What better way to work off some the Christmas excess than to join us for a run or two in that 'gap' between Christmas and New Year. Our Year End Marathon, always held on December 28th has proven very popular and we were often asked why we didn't do a double or even a triple event - so we did in 2016 and now it's back by popular demand for 2017.
So here it is again- the Frozen Phoenix Double, meaning of course you could come and do the Year End Marathon as well for a cheeky little triple!
Q: Why is it called the Frozen Phoenix?
A: Well it has absolutely nothing to do with some film for small girls - although I have a funny feeling I might be seeing a lot of that film is a few years time. It's because it's the end of December and it's likely to be very cold.
It's also because we have a cool idea for a medal which fits this theme well.
Places will be strictly limited so don't leave it too late to enter.
Registration opens from 7.45am
This event is fully sanctioned by the 100 Marathon Club.
The terrain is riverside towpath with the overall course having no elevation gain / loss making this a flat and fast route.
There is NO 'on the day entry'
