The Hagbourne Fun Run and Walk is an annual, family friendly village event which takes place on the early May bank holiday Monday. The event has been running since 1990 and raises money for local causes and cancer charities.

The course is 4.5 mile / 7.1 km, multi-terrain starting and ending in East Hagbourne, South Oxfordshire. Mainly on footpaths and bridleways (1 short section of public road through Upton Village) it goes via West Hagbourne, Upton and Blewbury before returning to East Hagbourne. The route includes a number of stiles and kissing gates and can be muddy & uneven in parts.

The run is open to runners aged 6 and over. The walk is open to all ages. Dogs are not permitted with runners. Due to the nature of the course it is not suitable for running buggies.

Prizes for: 1st, 2nd, 3rd Man; 1st, 2nd, 3rd Lady; 40+ Man; 40+ Lady; 60+ Man; 60+ Lady; U16 Boy; U16 Girl; U12 Boy; U12 Girl; U9 Boy; U9 Girl, Local Man; Local Lady (Local = living within the parish of East or West Hagbourne); Best fancy dress. Ages for the categories will be your age on race day.

There are a maximum of 400 runner places. This event usually sells out so please enter online via this site to ensure your place in the run. Please come to Hagbourne Village Hall between 9am and 10.15am on race day to collect your race number.

The run and walk will be followed by entertainment and prize giving at race HQ - East Hagbourne Village Hall, OX11 9LR. There will also be delicious hot food, home made cakes and hot and cold drinks will be on sale from 9am-1pm.

10.45 All participants to gather in start field at Manor Farm Lane

11.00 RACE START - followed by walkers - Manor Farm Lane

12.00 Entertainment - Hagbourne Village Hall

12.30 Walkers finish line closes

12.40 (approx) Prize Giving - Hagbourne Village Hall

Hot and cold food and drinks available at Hagbourne Village Hall from 9.00 - 13.00

Organiser T&C's

Minimum age for runner 6 years. Entrants under 9yrs must be accompanied by an adult.

Entrants under 16yrs may only take part with the permission of a parent or guardian. By entering you confirm that this permission has been given.

In the event of the organisers cancelling the event, entrants will be offered the options to transfer their entry to the following year, donate the money or have a refund (less booking fees).

In the event of a pre-paid entrant not attending no refund will be payable.

Dogs are NOT permitted with runners.

Running buggies are NOT permitted due to nature of the course.

Headphones may be worn at your own risk, however we recommend bone-conducting ones. There is a small section of the course which is on open roads.

The organisers of the Hagbourne Fun Run will manage your personal data in line with current legislation. We will keep it safe and secure and only use it for the purpose of managing your entry and collating the results of the Fun Run.

Entrants agree to participate in this event at their own risk and that the organisers and owners of land over which the footpaths pass will not be responsible for any injuries, loss or damage sustained by anyone participating in this event.

Online entries close at midnight on Saturday 2nd May 2026 - subject to availability. Maximum 400 runner places available. Please pre-book online to ensure your place in the run.

On the day entries only be available if any places remain - but we expect these to be very limited.
