A fun and fundraising four mile Jog/Walk/Run around Brightlingsea in Essex, taking in views of the countryside and river. The race starts at Brightlingsea's historic All Saints's Church, follows country lanes, footpaths and the seawall down Moverons Lane, along the seawall, past Bateman's Tower and finishes at the Mirror Millennium Gardens on Promenade Way. Organised by the Rotary Club of Brightlingsea & District, all proceeds go to Essex Air Ambulance.
Registration opens at 10.00am outside All Saints' Church on Sunday 11 September and the race starts at the top of Moverons Lane at 11.00am.
The terrain is largely flat with a couple of gentle inclines and a few steps. Horses and bicycles are not permitted on parts of the route and it is unsuitable for wheelchairs and mobility scooters, although sturdy buggies/pushchairs are fine. Dogs are welcome (including Canicross participants) but must be kept on a lead at all times.
For those racing independently competitors must be over 11 years of age and all junior entrants are required to complete a parent/guarding consent form. Children of any age may take part in the event provided they are accompanied by a parent/guardian.
