UPDATE

We are really pleased to confirm that the temporary bridge opened today over the River Soar, which means we can stage the 10K course as intended.

The 10K course has been revised from the 2025 edition and has been officially re-measured.

ABOUT THIS RACE

We are looking forward to welcoming a field of 600 runners to the second Barrow Runners Watermead 10K at Watermead Country Park.

It is a Leicestershire Road Running League (LRRL) race, staged completely within the park over a flat and scenic course.

As agreed with the Leicestershire Road Running League, the entries for the first 7 days will be restricted to members of LRRL affiliated clubs. If the entries are not full by 10 May then the race will be advertised as an open event.

The route will also change from the 2025 edition because of the temporary bridge. Details will follow on the exact course, which will be officially re-measured.

LIMITED CAR PARKING

It is essential that runners car share as much as possible and please arrive with plenty of time before the race to ensure a prompt 7pm race start.

The car parking fee for the park is included in the race fee.

Full race details are available on the Barrow Runners website.

THANK YOU!

We want to extend our thanks to the local running community for offers of help after our race trailer and kit was stolen last month. We are particularly grateful to Barratt Redrow and TTP Elements who kindly stepped forwards to pay for the replacement race kit for us to be able to host the race.
