Reliability 1 to Widdop - Sunday 14th January 2024: 47.5 miles, 3,968ft of climb
ABC Centreville runs 3 reliability rides; informal, successively longer early season tests of fitness aimed at increasing fitness and self-reliance to kick-start the year. You'll need to carry equipment and food suitable for winter riding over hills, have a well-maintained bike (especially the brakes!) and to be able to navigate the un-marked route. The atmosphere is relaxed and friendly but reliabilities are not group rides as such, so while you might find people going at your pace, you may also ride some or all of the route alone. Riders from other clubs are very welcome, the more the merrier
Sign on £10 (includes post-ride food) at Littleborough Cricket Club, Denhurst Rd, Littleborough OL15 9LD.

18 yrsPlease remember, this is a social ride with cycling enthusiasts and you are fully self-supported. Please come equipped with everything you would bring on a solo ride (including a helmet) and be aware that the very nature of being self-supported means you are your own mechanic for this ride, so although we all hope it won't happen... be prepared to fix a puncture by the side of the road or handle anything else that may occur en-route!
Also bear in mind that the weather can be changeable at this time of year, so please dress according to the weather foreto ensure you stay warm and comfortable for the duration of the event. (We also recommend bringing a spare set of clothes for travelling home as you may get wet and muddy!)
Back at the HQ there will be cakes and weather-specific refreshments and plenty of time to chat bikes, routes and all things adventure with fellow riders.
